The Ambassadors of Harmony, the St. Louis area's premier men's chorus, is busy preparing for a performance before the Southwestern American Choral Directors Association (SWACDA) at their annual conference at the Kauffman Center in Kansas City on March 9th. With a mission to change lives through music, the Ambassadors have been an integral part of St. Louis' artistic landscape for 52 years. The Ambassadors are representing the Barbershop Harmony Society at the conference, which also has a booth highlighting the resources they provide for youth singers. SWACDA is a division of the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA) which was founded in 1959 and has about 22,000 members. SWACDA comprises seven states, Missouri, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and New Mexico. The Mission of ACDA is to inspire excellence in choral music through education, performance, composition, and advocacy

The Ambassadors will be performing songs in the Barbershop style, along with numbers that highlight their versatility in modern a cappella. Not every song will be pure a cappella though--some of their music will feature drums and even kazoos. Also featured in the Wednesday evening show will be the Collegiate Honor Choir as well as the 2016 Grammy Award winners for Best Choral Recording, the Kansas City Chorale.
