BECOME A MEMBER! HOW TO AUDITION:
Trying out for a four-time champion chorus may sound daunting, but the men of AOH have all stood in your shoes. We are thrilled to bring new singers into our ranks and we encourage you to attend our rehearsals to experience the power of performing with more than 130 singers.
We look for men with a passion for performing, a desire to sing challenging music and a commitment to perfecting our artform. Our music carries a deep emotional message that means it is important to convey the meaning of our songs with strong visual performance.
Our audition process is straight-forward: First, come to three consecutive rehearsals to get a good sense of how AOH works. Second, pass a basic vocal audition by singing a traditional barbershop song in a quartet for our music team. Third, apply for membership with the Barbershop Harmony Society and pay dues.
Once you've joined, you'll be expected to pass a performance evaluation, learn the repertoire and come prepared to every rehearsal and concert.
If you have any questions about auditioning or membership, email our membership coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To audition, you'll be asked to sing your part to the song, "I'd Love to Live in Loveland" in a quartet. You can use sheet music in the audition. Our music team will be listening for correct words and notes as well as good vocal tone that will blend with the chorus.
Below are the tracks and sheet music for "I'd Love to Live in Loveland." Please download them to practice the song in preparation for your audition. You can also play the song directly from the website.

SEE YOU SOON, BUT NOT THIS THURSDAY...
Friends, this Thursday's rehearsal is closed because it's a rehearsal for our show this weekend with the award-winning gospel group, Sweet Honey in the Rock.
Tickets and concert information here.
Our regular weekly rehearsal resumes at 7 p.m. March 1 at Memorial Hall in Blanchette Park in St. Charles.
NOTE: Our March 22 rehearsal is also a closed dress rehearsal.
We love an audience anytime because it helps us better prepare for stage performances. Guest singers are welcome to watch, too, but we strongly encourage you to sing with us on our risers to get a sense for the kind of work we do in rehearsal.
Our rehearsals on February 22 and March 22 will be closed rehearsals at an offsite location
See the map below for details.
