VOCAL SPECTRUM

Vocal Spectrum has become one of the world's most popular young quartets, with appearances in New Zealand, Sweden, Russia, Japan, China, Spain, England and the United States. Based in St. Louis, they have performed with artists such as Dick Van Dyke, Take 6 and the Real Group. In 2004, the quartet won the gold medal at the Barbershop Harmony Society's collegiate contest in Louisville, KY. Just two years later, Vocal Spectrum earned the highest award in barbershop by becoming the 2006 international quartet champions. FLEET STREET

Fleet Street is a St. Louis-based quartet representing the Central States District. Its members are Matt Suellentrop, Aaron Zart, Michael Bass and Keegan Eich. They have competed five times at the international level, most recently finishing in the top 20 at the BHS contest in Louisville, KY. Together, they have more than 40 years of combined barbershop experience and have sung in 19 previous quartets before joining forces. While involved in promoting youth singing, they travel together and separately serve as section leaders and directors for youth in harmony camps around the region including Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky. SPITFIRE

Spitfire formed in 2018 and has competed several times at the district and international levels. Its members are Stephen Vanderberg, tenor, Chris Pingel, lead, Austin Veteto, baritone, and J.T. Reid, bass, who describe themselves simply as “4 dudes who love singing.” Most recently, the quartet competed in the 2023 Barbershop Harmony Society international contest in Louisville, KY., finishing 42nd overall. OFF-TOPIC

Off-Topic began singing together in the spring of 2023 as “Momento” and quickly became one of HarmonySTL’s more competitive quartets. The quartet took ninth place in the 2023 NextGen Varsity quartet competition in Louisville, Kentucky, and is continuing to grow as a singing ensemble. Now called Off-Topic with a couple of new singers, its members are Alexandar Johnson, bass, Austin Turner Beck, baritone, Julia Vedvig, lead and Bethany Vanlandingham, tenor. BLOCK PARTY

Block Party is the Central States District’s 2022 mixed quartet champions and HarmonySTL’s only all-voices quartet based in St. Louis. Two of its members, Erin Pettit and Kate Currier, sing with the Visions of Harmony women’s chorus. Its two other members Joel Currier and Eric Drennen are longtime singers in the five-time world champion chorus, The Ambassadors of Harmony. The quartet finished in the top 10 at the Central States District’s preliminary contest in 2023 and is preparing to compete again soon. For more information, go to Block Party’s Facebook page.


UNCORKED

The quartet earned the super novice award at the 2018 Central States District and competed in the 2022 Central States District contest.
